Where Eagle Soars – Few Dare to Tread

Tell us about Ryan Eagle – how you got your start, where you are and where you plan on being in the near future.

I hit success in 2004 when one of my web properties got rank #1 in Google. I worked around the clock duplicating my success over and over as I watched my revenues fly into levels I never thought were possible. In 2005, I became an affiliate and focused my time and energy in refining the art of building campaigns and ad copy. Affiliate marketing was like second nature for me, and it was much faster moving than building out SEO sites so I felt a rush from it immediately. After years of saving capital for the grand scheme I created EWA Network and it hit massive success by providing the absolute best service, the highest payouts, and unheard of pay terms. EWA grew virally by word of mouth, and we continue to keep our doors tight to keep our membership exclusive for the best only. In Mid-2010, we launched BLAM Ads Content Locking with an explosive advertising campaign and a superior solution. BLAM Ads membership grew and webmasters began making more money than they were with traditional advertising platforms. BLAM Ads huge growth and success we’ve experienced so far is just a beginning. New technology is being released in the coming weeks that will allow us to finally reach our goals.

The future? My goal is the same as it was years ago: save operating capital, scale current assets, create new companies and invest into additional businesses. One of the newer divisions of Eagle Web Assets is focused on Angel Investments. We invested in several internet related companies since launching it and seen astronomical success. I feel that as time progresses I’ll be focusing the majority of my time more into this aspect of the company. I love business, I love creation, I love what I do – the passion I have for creating is something that cannot be put into words.

Do you attack life the same way you attack affiliate marketing?

Absolutely. Believe it or not, there is a lot more out there besides getting money and making businesses. Even though I love what I do, I learned a long time ago the hard way that “money, hoes, cars, and clothes” is not what life is only about. I learned that if I focus my attention to any aspect in life that I want to improve upon, I can see growth. As I get older, I realize how little I know about life – and that’s humbling for someone with an ego like mine. A great man told me, “The only way to achieve greatness is to stay out of your comfort zone.” It’s something that I apply to my entire life and it’s given me riches beyond what money can offer.

Who were your heroes when you were growing up? Who did you aspire to be like?

My father, Tom Eagle, was always my hero and still is my role model. He has all the attributes that I want to have as a man, and I confide in him to this day very closely. My father was with me through the rough times in my life, and was there to support me through my successes. Several years ago I brought him into my company as the Executive Vice President and he’s been a vital part to the safe growth of Eagle Web Assets, EWA Network, BLAM Ads and all the other entities we’ve invested in. Although we share a lot of the same attributes, he is a very conservative person (especially with money) and acts as the financial controller. With Harrison and I focused on growth, he’s the one that monitors it to make sure cash-flow is safe and overhead remains low. Without him in my personal life, I could have never achieved what I have now. Without him in my business life, I would have never seen the successes that I have. I’m truly grateful for having such a great father in my life; I’m a blessed guy to have someone show me how to be a man.

Is there something from your experiences in the past that has helped you run your networks?

Hard work pays off. For as long as I can remember I’ve dedicated every possible moment I can into making my businesses successful. Since I founded Eagle Web Assets in 2004, we’ve changed our focus several times in order to remain consistently profitable throughout the years. In every new aspect of the industry I enter, I dedicate immense hours and time into building these businesses. The money starts off slow while I labor for hours and hours – this is the period when most people fail and give up. I’m a go-getter, I never give up and I will never accept losing as an option. Once something I do reaches success, I continue to work harder and harder because I want to fully seize the opportunity until it dries up because I’ve learned one thing: nothing lasts forever, and a diverse business lasts.

Was there a specific moment when you realized that EWA was going to work?

Anything that I put my heart into is going to work, so I never had a doubt in my mind that EWA was going to be a success. I’m confident enough in myself that I can reach success in any industry with any business, and I’ve proven that over and over again. I had no expectation that we would have ever grown to the size we are now, but it shows that my sleepless nights paid off tenfold. Harrison and I were a partnership that many underestimated and dismissed, but we have fire in our eyes to this day. We’ve built a team around us of some of the most dedicated people in the industry and these employees have taken EWA to plateaus so high nobody can get near us. I continuously innovate for all my brands, I came here to outdo what has not been done, and now the rest are scrambling for my position above them.

Are you worried about being lumped into the same category as other networks that routinely get classified as being in it for the wrong reasons? What sets you apart from the rest?

The thing that I find hilarious about almost every other network out there is that the management, owners, and affiliate mangers never had any experience whatsoever as an actual affiliate. I figure it only makes sense to go along the progression line of becoming first an affiliate, learning the industry, then jumping into other areas related. The success of EWA is very much due to the fact that we are affiliates that understand what affiliates need. We provide the right offers, immense amounts of knowledge, and a strong community that others simply cannot compete to. Why would an affiliate want to run at a network that has owners that simply peddle the offer that makes them the most, rather than the other way around? The success of my affiliates directly correlates to the success of my network, and I go above and beyond in every aspect to make that experience possible.

Your advertising and branding is definitely out there – who is the brainchild behind that – is it you or someone on your team?

Yours truly. I make all my banners, I personally choose all my media buys, and I personally network with all the people necessary for it all to work. I’m never going to be like the others that hit success then sit on an island while monitoring their stats: I love this industry so much I need to stay in the trenches with my peers.

When most people think of EWA, they think of a rock star network – hard to get in. How have you taken the affiliate marketing business and spun that into a sexier business?

This was my life and I just wanted to have fun with the whole thing. I was sick of working with people and networks with no real personality. This industry is run entirely by my peers, so I always just acted myself and spoke exactly how I do in real life and EWA came to be. Affiliate marketers should have fun doing what they do all day and EWA gave them a reason to work longer and harder than anyone else. We’re an exclusive community and we provide benefits beyond belief to our members, and we have no interest in ever expanding outside of a referral-based company. Unlike the other networks, we only wanted to work with the best and give them the best – that is exactly what EWA is all about.

You’ve obviously rubbed some people the wrong way in the past – either because of your success or your attitude, does that matter to you or are you often just mis-understood?

I’m misunderstood, but I don’t need explaining. I’m a flashy, arrogant, cocky asshole that can back every word I say with my success. I’m a self-made man that built up everything I have without a cent of investment, or any help from anyone – I turned a domain name into your fantasy. They are upset because I’m on a level they will never get on, so I completely sympathize with them. It’s not my fault I make this look easy, it just comes natural.

Tell us a bit about Blam Ads – how is it better/different than the other content locking networks out there?

We carried the same values that made EWA what it is today: BLAM Ads payouts are higher than any competitor, our EPC’s are much stronger, our tracking is more far accurate, our affiliate managers work around the clock right alongside me, we have the strongest and fastest growing community, we have more domestic and international offers than any competitor there is. We’ve gone above and beyond in every aspect we could think of, and with the release of our new technology coming out in the next couple weeks we will truly revolutionize the market. BLAM Ads is stepping into unknown territory and setting a precedent that others simply cannot compare themselves to. We are the absolute best solution for content locking webmasters and incent affiliates, period.

Can you talk a little about what kind of revenues you are generating daily/monthly for your advertisers?

If we placed Eagle Web Assets in INC 500, the entire industry would faint – I just don’t need the accolades and affirmation to prove a point that we’re on top.

Can you tell me a little bit about the challenges associated with an incent network?

Challenges? Holy! I thought that starting EWA was hard, but BLAM Ads was a whole different beast. I divulged myself into an industry I knew very little about, but was confident that I could learn everything about. As I’ve told affiliates before, the best way to learn is through failure. To say the least, we went through hundreds of failures in the beginning to get where we are at now. As soon as things started looking up, something always seemed to break. Andre Ramsey and I spent countless nights plotting how to get past roadblocks, and we slowly but surely plowed through each one. It was one of the most painful, long, and demoralizing processes I’ve even gone through but light showed at the end of the tunnel and we’ve mastered the industry. Success came, affiliates and webmasters flocked in by the thousands, and BLAM established its name in the industry as a leader.

What are some trends you are seeing in the space and what are you doing to put yourself out in front?

I’m still very much involved as an affiliate and I delegate about 30% of my teams time focusing on new niches, so I usually get to see trends before they start to hit mainstream. The main goal for EWA and BLAM is diversity in both offers and international reach. I’ve been preaching it since the beginning with EWA and it’s just starting to take off more and more. There are so many countries that are barely monetized, and so much money to be made it’s insane. We are hitting just a tip of the iceberg, and I’m excited to see what the future brings.

Who are some of the networks you hold in high regard?

Well, yours of course!

What takeaway should my readers have from this interview – is there something specific you care to share?

For the people that have a misconception about me, get past it because it’s only costing you money. I’m here to make my publishers and merchants rich, just check the credentials. My name is known because of the success that I have brought to my clients. I made my flight to the top look easy, but I still carry the same work ethic as I did when I started my company.

It’s these type of people who make this industry fun and more of a challenge- there is always something more to strive for…Personally, in regards to Ryan being “cocky”…I’d be the same way if I ever got to his level of success…except with out the “hoes” part in “money, hoes, cars, and clothes”
