Thanks Rick for the insight. That is potentially the Holy Grail for less than honest affiliates.
That is quite a lot of advice and more than enough to cause a network many problems, especially those networks that pride themselves on paying very quickly. Anyway my advice to any publisher, new or old, is to be honest and don’t feel that you need to lie to get into a network. Many networks have different parameters that they base their affiliate approvals upon. If you get declined by one, don’t take it personally and then come up with tall tails to get back into that network. If network thinks a pending affiliate is being less than dishonest, in most instances they will dismiss without much thought. This is because it isn’t worth the time for them to constantly monitor new affiliate. So in conclusion be up front, don’t BS, image isn’t everything, and you don’t need to be accepted into every network to be successful.

Great post Ricky. This is precisely why since 2006 we’ve had a strict policy of only accepting super-affiliates! I just don’t do business with people I don’t know.
That is definitely the best way to go. Just few good affiliates that you know vs many unknown liabilities.

Being new at this or not being a super-affiliate is quite different than being fraudulent. I sell real physical products to real people most of whom I do not know. Sometimes I get ripped of when people don’t pay me online for the items that have already been shipped. This is just the cost of doing business online or offline. Do the networks think that they can avoid risk entirely? They are already in a risky business. I won’t spend my money driving good solid converting traffic to any network that does not fully appreciate every penny I have spent to get that traffic. Most affiliates could make more money on their own making real dollars from their traffic instead of making pennies from the networks.
